Why FBI agents wouldmake great internet marketers.

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

The bad guy tries to stay one step ahead of the FBI agent.
It’s a cat and mouse game
For decades, the FBI have struggled to develop new ways of catching their quarries.
They’ve upgraded their technology.
They’ve increased their manpower.
They’ve modified their routines.
But, all of their efforts ultimately boil down to one crucial thing…
The agent must figure out what motivates his quarry to do the things he does. If the bad guy hurts people, why does he do it? If the bad guy is a traitor to his country, what drives him in his espionage? If the agent hopes to catch his prey, he must do two things well…
1. He must know the target he’s pursuing
2. He must know how to anticipate his targets’ moves
Both skills will aid the FBI agent in capturing his prey. And both skills will aid the marketer in turning prospects into buyers. Let’s look briefly at both…
First The FBI Agent Knows The Target He’s PursuingWhen a case develops, the agent doesn’t charge in with both guns blazing. Doing so might get people hurt and he could lose his prey. Instead, a good agent is more methodical. He studies his target and tries to “profile” him. He watches his target’s moves and tries to anticipate the next one. He compiles data and tries to identify trends and routines in his target’s actions. As the agent pours the hours in and immerses himself in his work, he begins to truly KNOW his target. He starts to understand what motivates him to do things. A profile of his target emerges. And eventually, he’ll use this information to corner and CATCH his target.
Second The FBI Agent Knows How To Catch HimAfter he’s studied, watched and compiled information on his target, the agent develops a plan of action to catch him. It’s not usually easy. Often, the target is smart and has eluded the agent several times. So, the agent has to rely upon all of the information that he compiled and the profile he constructed of his target to successfully capture him. It’s rarely a matter of crashing down doors with both guns drawn and pulling the bewildered target from his bed. Rather, the agent creates a subtle trap. A virtual net. He uses the information he’s gathered to entice his quarry into the center of the net. Before the target realizes his predicament, the trap is sprung, the net closes and the prey is captured.

How To Apply This To Your internet Marketing .
Let’s get back to marketing strategies. How can you use the techniques of the FBI to identify, study, pursue and ultimately capture your target internet market? First, you need to begin gathering information. If you have a list, ask them what they want. If you have a site that attracts visitors, figure out what your visitors are looking for. Look in your logs to see how they found you at Google. Track which keywords in your PPC campaigns are your sweet spots. If you have a forum, you need to be watching the conversations. Your product research lab is held there.
Second, you need to develop a profile of your target. What gender is your target? How old is he /she? What is his income level? What does he like to do when he’s not on his computer? What else does he buy? What issues does he have? Get into the mind of your target.
Third, you need to create the trap. Simply figure out what problem your target has and offer him a solution. There are lots of ways to do this profitably. Create a product. Create a Special Report. Interview somebody who resolved that same problem. Find someone else’s product. We’re just scraping the surface here. Bottom line, identify your target’s problem and solve it for him.
Last Thoughts Smart folks, those FBI agents. The process they go through to capture their prey is slow and methodical. But, it yields results. This approach can yield results for you, too. You don’t need to GUESS how to reach your target market or what products to sell your market. You just need to gather information about them. And believe it or not, a lot of this information is there for the asking. Ask your market what they want. Ask them what their problems are. They’ll tell you. You just have to ask. That’s it for now. See you next time!

Hi friend, Thank you for stopping by again. I’ve been noticing a trend in some of the forums of late. A lot of people are hitting a wall when it comes to building their business online. So, I was inspired to write a quick article about it. After you’ve read it, attach your comment and let me know if you enjoyed it or not. On with the show… ____________________________________________________________

“Three Steps To Earning A consistent Living Online” by Frank Rae ____________________________________________________________

A lot of folks are confused when it comes to succeeding online. Part of the problem is that there is too much information available. This information overload can seriously hurt your chances of building your business. Maybe you’ve experienced it yourself, As soon as You visit some forums you start reading about search engine optimization, auto responders, the squeeze pages, Adwords and other pay per click campaigns, adsense, article and ezine marketing and the list goes on and on. And that’s just scratching the surface! If you delve a little deeper, you begin learning about (Pr publicity) press releases, online media buys, affiliate marketing, product launches and creating your own info products to sell online. We haven’t even started talking about the other subjects they cover: membership sites, teleseminars, lead products, one-time offers, backend up selling and the importance of bonuses. Is it a surprise people are confused! There’s too much to think about. So, I want to take you back to the basics today. We’re going to focus on the critical things that have always mattered and leave the rest behind for latter. Keeping in mind there’s a time for everything. Here are three major ways that’ll guarantee your success in earning your living online… 1.I can’t say enough that you need to Create and sell your own products. 2.You can also Sell other people’s products. 3.Monetize your well visited site by Earn Adsense revenue. Now, there are many other ways to build a business online. We’ll go into those other ways some other time. For now, let’s (KISS) Keep it simple stupid. I’ll take you by the hand and show you specific steps that you can duplicate so you can continuously earn consistent money online. Let’s look very briefly at each of the three types of businesses… 1. Create And Sell Your Own Products

=======================================

Creating your own products is simple. You’re probably tired of hearing that since you have probably heard it at every forum and in every e-book you’ve read. But, it’s true. It takes some work, but creating your own product is something you can definitely do. It doesn’t matter if you don’t currently have a website, a list or lots of friends with lists. It doesn’t even matter if you don’t know anything about your market. You can still create a product that others will buy. The most important part of creating your own products is three-fold… o identify a market o give that market what it wants build a website for this market) o Tweak and test each step of your sales process to make it more and more profitable We’ll go into the details of each part some other time. Remember, we’re just keeping things simple today.

2. Sell Other People’s Products

==================================

You have probably heard people referring to this as “affiliate marketing.” It’s a very easy way of getting paid to promote products without having to create those products. Basically, someone else creates a product. If you help them sell it, they’ll give you part of the sales price. It’s simple how it works. Again, the most important part of the entire process is three-fold… o identify a market o give that market what it wants o test each step of your sales process to make it more and more profitable It works the same in “affiliate marketing” as it does when you create your own product. The sales process is a little different in “affiliate marketing” (and we’ll talk about that in a future article). But, the basics are the same. You find a market, give it what wants and then test everything. There are some traps that a lot of inexperienced marketers fall into, but don’t worry. We’ll cover that in the near future, too. There’s no reason to overwhelm you with information you don’t need right now. 3. Earn Adsense Revenue ==========================

Adsense is a different animal than marketing your own products or promoting other people’s products. After all, you’re getting paid to show your visitor the door without expecting them to come back. And while it’s true that you’re showing your visitor the door when you’re doing “affiliate marketing,” you have a relationship with that visitor. You’re making a recommendation to them. You should have them on a list. You expect them to come back. There are some ways that you can get your visitor to come back to your site when you’re promoting Adsense (and we’ll talk about those strategies in the future). But, promoting Adsense isn’t consistent with building a long-lasting relationship with your customers. And here’s the interesting thing about Adsense… The most important part of driving Adsense revenue is very similar to promoting your own products or other people’s products… You identify a market. Then, you give that market what it wants (in this case, good content). Then, you test everything to ensure you’re making as much income as you can from your process.

Final Thoughts

=================

We have talked about three major ways that you can earn your living online. You can create and sell your own products, promote other people’s products, or earn Adsense revenue. None of these are complicated. Many experienced marketers do all three. But, the important thing to remember is that the key components of each of these three types of businesses is the same… o identify a market o give that market what it wants o test each step of your sales process to make it more and more profitable There are tons of ways to identify a market. There are tons of ways to deliver to that market what it wants. And there are so many things to test that it can boggle your mind. But, too much information at once will only slow you down. First, realize that all three businesses that we’ve talked about in this article aren’t complicated. They’re simple and anyone can do them. Next, remember the key components that drive these different types of businesses. We’ll worry about some of the details in upcoming articles. That’s it for now. Talk to you soon P.S.
