Many places, like restaurants, add a percentage to your total bill for authorization purposes, in case you use the card to leave a tip. So if like me, you're trying to use the remaining balance, you won't be able to do so if you come close. An interesting way for gift-card suppliers to hold on to a little more money.

D3thKn1ght: Meh. Yea. I'm still planning on getting Hughesnet in about a month though. It's THE ONLY thing I can get besides dial-up. And well, my dial-up is going at around 19k connection speeds. Once in a while if I'm lucky it will jump to 37k. Almost never happens though. But even 10Kbps is faster then dial-up. Even at the best of the best dial-up connection (52k), the best download speed you can get is 6kbps. But yea. Funny thing is I used to get 49k connection speeds for years. But now for about a year I've had these horrible connection speeds. So at this point I'm so fed up with dial-up that I'm willing to go with ANYTHING else. Even if it means paying all that money just to get it set up.
